Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Palit. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable Use and Community Standards

Palit has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that is:

• Harassing, bullying, threatening, or targeted at another user
• Hate speech, or content that promotes discrimination
• Sexual or sexually explicit, or sexual content involving minors (which is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities)
• Graphically violent or content that glorifies violence
• Spam, scams, or deceptive content
• Unlawful in any jurisdiction where Palit is used
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your identity

You also agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App without our permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation

3a. Reporting, Blocking, and Content Removal

Every piece of user-generated content in Palit has a Report option accessible through the ⋯ menu on the item. You can also Block any user from the same menu; blocking instantly hides their content from your feed, profiles, and direct messages, and they will no longer be able to see yours.

We review every report promptly. Our moderation team has the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, and to warn, suspend, or ban users who engage in abusive behavior. Reports go to our moderation inbox at support@palit.me.

If you believe your content was removed in error, contact us at support@palit.me.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create on Palit, including reviews, rankings, and notes. By posting content, you grant Palit a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content within the App as part of its community features. You may delete your content at any time.

5. Film Data and Event Listings

Film metadata is provided by third-party sources including TMDB. Event listings are aggregated from public theater schedules. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of this information. Ticket purchases are handled by third-party vendors; Palit is not responsible for those transactions.

6. ELO Rankings

Your film rankings are calculated using an ELO-based algorithm based on your head-to-head comparisons. Rankings are personal to your account and may be visible to other users through community features.

7. Intellectual Property

The Palit App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Palit. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

Palit is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Palit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
